Feet in the Water

This is a very pretty, restful picture. The light acts as a leading line, drawing you throught the trees. It had an odd effect on me, it made me want to take a step back to take more of it in. I'm guessing you make have lightened it up a little to get the detail on the tree bark to stand out. Very effective in that respect, the mosses and furrows on the tree bark are nicely emphasized. There's a slightly blown out spot in the upper left quadrant that I find a distraction. The tree branches growing out of the stump on the right draw you to them, inviting a second look. The ivy in the foreground stands out as well. The overall sense of this picture is one of serenity. It makes you want to sit and just look, take it all in. Very effective use of textures and light. A lot of green, but it's all different and welcoming.
