Most people think of mushrooms for their culinary value. Are they poisonous or not? Mycology has often been regarded as a branch of botany, even though it is a separate kingdom in biological taxonomy. Genetic studies have shown that fungi are more closely related to animals than to plants. I don't particularly appreciate the word "TOADSTOOL" It seems to be used more often for mushrooms that shouldn't be eaten. This word expresses a sort of spite and ignorance about the visual part of fungi. What are the genus and species of these fungi? If you know I am always happy to learn. My photograghy is intended to show a more spiritual value. Sometimes these creatures even seem to have a soul. Scientists are becoming more and more intrigued by these creatures and their ability to "communicate with other life forms through mycelium which can reach hundreds of meters in length. Some even use the term inteligence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuKjBIBBAL8 Mushrooms can be open to a lot of interpretation. Remember, what we call mushrooms are the sexual organs of the fungus in question. If you know their "real" names, I am interested.
